Friday Favorites

TGIF! Hi friends, I hope y'all have  had a great week. I feel like this week went by in a fog. Has that ever happened to y'all? I almost feel like I was on autopilot and bam here's Friday. This week has been full of the usual gym, work, sleep, repeat with a couple good walks thrown into the mix to get steps and to enjoy the warmer weather here in Charlotte. As always, I'm linking up with Andrea, Narci, and Erika for Friday Favorites!

ONE

I was floored by the heartfelt feedback I got back from my Let's Talk Tuesday post about how I'm dating myself. If you didn't read it, right about now you're scratching your head about how I could be dating myself. Ha! Well you should check it out and read more. Every blog comment, Facebook comment, text, etc didn't go unnoticed and I loved hearing y'all's feedback. This blogging community has just made my heart happy!

Oh and I forgot to mention. Even though I am dating myself (hello, dates are always fun when I get to chose them ;)) I do have a great man in my life. That's my Dad. He's the best! Thanks for being a constant in my life.

TWO

WARNING: Prepare yourself for awkward selfies of me mean mugging it ;) You guys know I'm a fan of a bold lip. And by bold, I mean very bold. I.E....

So when I was perusing my happy place, the MAC makeup counter, I decided that I needed a good neutral. I wanted one with a little more brown in it. My inspo was really Kylie Jenner. Yep, I said it! My go-to lipstick is MAC Snob, but even though it goes with a lot it's still not very neutral It's hard to see in this picture but it's a light, Barbie matte pink.

So the MAC lady at the counter suggested MAC Kinda Sexy with MAC Whirl as the liner. Well, it fit my vision perfectly.

You might see what appears to be liner on the outside of my lip...well, actually I just naturally have freckles on the edge of my lip haha! So I'm not doing a poor job of lining, there's just only so much I can do. But I think it looks understated but really ties my look together. What do y'all think?

THREE

My awesome cousin and her husband (Shoutout to Katie & Joel) had an extra seat to the Hornets vs. Phoenix game on Tuesday. They were amazing front row club seats and I was in heaven! I was so excited to go to another game. I went for the traditional all black look but mixed it up with this awesome jean jacket that belongs to my roomie. I obviously am horrible at taking outfit pictures...

I got there and was a little too excited about the club seats. Notice I'm going for the same lip look as above.

I was able to stand right next to the players running out on the court.

And all the free food was SO BAD FOR ME! But it tasted pretty good...oops.

My fellow Panthers' fans know who this is. All the heart eyes.

Our seats were phenomenal.

Fangirling so hard.

I got to meet see Michael Jordan in my Michael Jordan year! (I'm 23)

And coach came out to show his support as well!

I had so much fun. Any locals in the Charlotte area should definitely check out the Hornets' games!

FOUR

I'm already getting excited for posts I've been brainstorming about coming up. As I'm sure a lot of my blogger friends can relate, sometimes I feel more inspired than other times. Lately, my brain has been cranking out some new ideas. Here our some previews...

A book review post (& link-up)...

Some new healthy recipes...

A day in the life post...

A recap of my parent's weekend...

Just to name a few. What do y'all like reading about? Any and all feedback is appreciated!

FIVE

I listen to a lot of music throughout the day. I pay for Spotify premium so I make sure I get my money's worth! I listen to it in all my car rides, while working out, showering, around the house, etc. I'm known to "kill" a song, meaning that once I found a song or a few songs that I like I listen to them so much that I get tired of them after awhile. Well, my current obsession is Kiiara. She showed up on my Discover Playlist (thanks Spotify!) and it's been true love. I love both of her songs...

I wouldn't even know how to describe the genre. But they are multipurpose songs in my opinion. You should definitely add them to your playlist!

Okay, friends! Thanks for all your love this week. I appreciate you all. Keep reaching out to me, every comment warms my soul. Have a great weekend and see you back here Monday!

  8. Happy Friday and weekend Lauren! It's going to be a wet and windy one here in California. i like your neutral lipstick. I am not a lipstick person, I wear a moisturizing lip balm by Neutrogena. Maybe I someday I can wear a tinted lip balm... Baby steps. I have been wanting to ask this for a long time.. out of curiousity, what does the part pout/part kiss and pucker look mean, or is it just something you and your friends do? I am also curious about thr Emily Maynard Johnson book - looking forward to,your post. Have a great weekend!

    1. You should definitely try out a lipstick soon! It really pulls an outfit together. Haha! Well it's kinda called the "duck face" and a lot of people my age do it. But a lot of times I do it or just not smile so I can show off my lipstick. Emily's book was good! Have a great weekend!
