Liebster Award

Thanks to my sweet blogger friend, Julie, at Say Yes to Happy for nominating me for the Liebster award. How it works...you're nominated for a blogger and you answer the questions they chose for you. I'm going to answer these questions so that y'all can get to know me better!

What is my favorite thing about blogging?

Well, as cliche as it sounds it's the amount of encouraging, supportive, women I've "met." I feel their friendship through the computer. I learn so much from them! I would love the opportunity to meet up with blogger friends!

How did you get started blogging?

I really mentioned it in my first post. I wanted a creative outlet as an escape from a pretty uncreative job. I only started less than 3 months ago!

What has blogging taught you?

Hmm...not sure what my answer would be. I have learned so much about myself throughout the process. And from my blogger friends I've picked up so much from them! Blogging teaches you to really look into who you are. What makes you tick.

What are some items on your bucket list?

That's really tough. There's so much world out there! I want to travel more so badly. Here are some countries I want to visit:

1. Greece
2. Switzerland
3. Germany
4. Amsterdam
5. Sweden
6. Spain
7. Italy

There are definitely many more but those are my top ones. I'm hoping in the next couple years that I'll take one long trip and cross several of them off of my bucket list. Another bucket list item--buy my fixer upper! I have found this house in the perfect neighborhood with great bones in Charlotte. I'm not in a place to buy a house and probably won't for awhile but it's still a dream! I think about it all the time and even have a Pinterest board with decorating ideas for it...eek! Is that too far???

What's your favorite thing about where you grew up?

Eek, that's so hard! I love where I grew up but it's not that exciting of a place. It would probably have to be the great neighborhood/school district I lived in. I had an awesome group of friends and we had way too much fun!

For fun...here's a picture of me on my first day of Kindergarten:

I had a great high school experience. Here are some of my memories. This is what I love about my hometown. These awesome friends I grew up with!

Where is the best place you've traveled to?

Well I documented my great trip to San Diego here and here. Also, I talked about the highlights of my trip to Russia. Those trips were fantastic. But my favorite trip ever was probably my senior year of high school trip to Scotland, England, and France. Here are a few of my favorite memories...

Who are the most influential people in your life?

My Grandma. I love my Grandma so much. She's one of my favorite people in the whole world. I'm sure a lot of my love for her comes from the fact that I hardly get to see her. So I always miss her fiercely. She is tough but sweet and she loves each of her grandkids so much. She always sends us the funniest Christmas gifts but we feel every ounce of love in each gift. I love her so!

Okay, I'm realizing we don't have the best pictures together. She's the best.

What's your favorite book you've ever read?

That's an impossible question to answer! One of my favorite classic books is The Great Gatsby. But I'm a big reader so I have lots of favorites!

What are 5 things that make you happy?

So obviously my faith, family, and friends are my absolute favorite things. But here are some "fun" favorite things:

1. A summer thunderstorm. It's weird, but I love it.
2. Christmas! I love the whole season. Everyone is so much happier. I touched on it here.
3. Lipstick. I have an insane amount of lipstick.
4. Anything to do with houses. Zillow is my friend!
5. Traveling. I want to do so much more!

Where or what is your happy place?

My happy place is back at my alma mater...Clemson University. I love Clemson football so much. Cannot wait to be back in Death Valley cheering on my tigers!

What has been a life changing experience for you?

Last fall I made the decision for the first time in my life to go to church. Don't get me wrong, I grew up going to church but it was never my decision. I still have a way to go in my journey so stay tuned. Lots to come!

Okay, so the next step would be nominating bloggers to answer some questions as well. I know several bloggers have already been nominated but here are a few that I don't think have been!

Rachel @ Floral and Fudge
Lindsay @ Not a Mom
Seri @ Seri's Blog
Kimm @ Kimm's Korner

If you haven't been nominated before--feel free to join in on these questions!

1. If you had $300 to spend at any store, what store would it be and what would you buy?
2. What is one nerdy thing about you?
3. Where have you traveled that has the best food?
4. What was your major in college? Did you use it?
5. Where do you see your blog heading in the next year?
6. What one beauty product can you not live without?
7. Tell me about your first car.
8. What's your favorite tv show?
9. What are you top 5 favorite blogs?
10. Describe your perfect day.

Thanks so much again, Julie! Have a great Wednesday, everyone! xoxo
