Hi friends! I hope everyone had a great 3 day weekend. I know I'm little late but I can't go onto my regularly scheduled post without recognizing the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. His wisdom, kindness, and intelligence forever changed our country. I cannot fathom what he could've accomplished if he had more time on this earth.
Today, I'm talking about my trip to DC. I planned a few months back to visit my friend from growing up, Kaity, in her new city, DC. Just for kicks and giggles...here's a throwback photo of us at our high school graduation!
Of course, Kaity looks so pretty and I look scary...eek! Anyways, I was so excited to see her. I left for the airport straight from work and landed in DC at 9:15 pm. She was so sweet and picked me up for the airport and headed back to her adorable apartment. She lives on the hill with her 2 roommates. I freshened up and we headed out for a night out.
The next day we did a lot of walking around and sightseeing.
Selfie with my gal.
If you follow me on snapchat, I apologize for my a) many, many snap stories and b) the excessive use of DC filters.
My tour guide!
The capitol building.
Prepare for our photo shoot in front of the capital.
Killing it.
Kaity and her roomie, Mark.
As you can see, we did a lot of walking around and taking in the sights. I have to say, it was COLD!
We went to a rooftop bar afterwards but I failed to take any pictures. Then we headed back to the apartment to rest up before heading out for the night. On our walk to Kaity's friends' house, I saw the capital lit up in the night.
We went out in Adams Morgan. I got to meet Kaity's bestie, George!
The next morning we met up with one of my besties from college, Caitlin! We grabbed brunch and it was snowing!!! I was in heaven.
The brunch was to die for. I had chicken and biscuits...holy yum.
But I have to say...the most exciting part for me was the homemade poptart. There are no words.
That afternoon we headed to my cousin, Brenna's, to watch the Panther's game. So, so proud of them!!! I wish I had taken pictures though. That night we decided to walk around and see some last minute monuments.
One of the coolest monuments by far. It's a very humbling monument.
The next morning, I got the awesome opportunity of meeting up with a blogger friend, Kylie! It honestly was so natural and easy to chat with her...just like old friends! I'm so thankful for all of my blogger friends! If you haven't checked out her blog, you should get on it!
Phew, that was a lot. Thanks for sticking with me! DC is an amazing city and I can see why Kaity loves it. I hope y'all have a great day and see you back here on Friday for my favorites! xoxo
