Zip Lining

I just wanted to thank all of my readers! I appreciate you listening to what I have to say. I have been so busy studying for my Series 7 and Series 63 licenses for my job, which has prevented me from diving into a lot of blog topics I want to cover. I can't wait till my licenses are in my past and I have the opportunity to try some crafts and recipes I have been thinking about!

Okay back to my post for today...

Before I started work, my parents and me went to Barnardsville right outside of Asheville to zip line. I've never been before so I was so excited but also really nervous. We went to Navitat Asheville and would highly recommend it. They have such high and long zip lines with fantastic views. The people that led us were so nice and patient with us.

We started out at the bottom of the mountain to get our equipment and hear some instructions.

Then we took a bumpy bus ride to get to the top of the mountain. The van was quite the a torture device experience. The ride was bumpy and the air wasn't working that well. These pictures crack me up because we look so worried!

When we got to the top of the mountain, our leaders explained some history of the area and took a few pictures for our group.

My parents and I. We had fun!

Then the van abandoned us and we hiked up to the first zip...eek! I was starting to get nervous at this point. I'm not one of those people who are terrified of heights but I also don't like the idea of flinging myself off a side of a mountain either :)

We got to the first zip and snapped a quick picture.

We zip 2 at a time so naturally I demanded that I ride with my Mom because I was shaking in my boots! Here we are all strapped in and ready to go...

On a complete unrelated note, I wore my go to lipstick, MAC Snob. Every challenge feels a little more doable when you smack on some lipstick!

Okay, back to zip lining. Here are pictures of what I saw before I was released on the zip.

Can you see why I was scared??

On the next zip, my Dad and I rode together. Here we are coming in after riding the longest zip (2/3rds of a mile!).

My Mom rides in next!

My Mom and I rode together for the last zip. Even though I had already done it 2 other times, I was still nervous!

Love this picture--riding off with my Momma!

My Dad was up next!

We had the BEST time! Afterwards, we drove to Asheville and ate a yummy lunch and shopped around. A perfect way to spend time with my parents before starting work. Have you ever been zip lining? Have a great day everyone!

  1. Looks like a ton of fun! I take my students on an adventure ropes course/zip lining field trip, but those zip lines are MUCH bigger than the ones we go on! Not sure my 12 year olds could handle that (or if I could handle it if we're being honest ;) hahah) but I'm so glad you had fun!!
